To ensure a comprehensive digital representation of the 80-year-old Ford Eifel, the team employed both Artec Eva and Space Spider handheld 3D scanners. The goal was to capture maximum data for seamless model assembly, while also managing data volume for efficient processing.

The Ford’s matte anti-corrosion primer proved beneficial, eliminating the need for anti-glare spray and simplifying the scanning process. Artec Eva was used to scan the car’s body, interior, wooden frame, and ladder frame, capturing overall dimensions and identifying missing structural elements. To capture fine details in hard-to-reach areas and individual components, the team disassembled parts of the car and utilized the Artec Space Spider. Known for its high resolution and accuracy, Space Spider excels in digitizing intricate details.
