As a CT Technologist at ChristianaCare, you will play a vital role in our Imaging Department, performing a wide range of CT scan procedures for both inpatients and outpatients. Your Role as a CT Technologist at ChristianaCare

This full-time flex position is based on the midnight shift (2300-0730) and includes weekend and holiday responsibilities, offering a competitive $7,500 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates. Your primary responsibilities will encompass all aspects of CT scan procedures, ensuring adherence to departmental protocols and maintaining the highest standards of patient care and safety. Beyond technical proficiency, this role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Expert Operation of CT Scan Equipment: Demonstrate mastery in operating advanced CT scanner units across all phases of testing, ensuring accurate and efficient image acquisition.
  • Procedure Completion and Efficiency: Proficiently complete all assigned technical imaging and non-imaging procedures within designated schedules, optimizing patient flow and department efficiency.
  • Insurance Verification: Verify insurance pre-authorization according to departmental protocols before each scan, ensuring seamless ChristianaCare CT scan scheduling and billing processes.
  • Mentorship and Training: Actively participate in the learning and development of students and new staff, sharing your expertise in departmental procedures, quality control, and radiation safety best practices.
  • Contrast Media Administration: Administer contrast media under the direct supervision of a physician, adhering to safety guidelines and patient-specific requirements.
  • Patient Assessment and Monitoring: Skillfully assess patients for potential adverse reactions or changes in condition, responding promptly and appropriately to ensure patient safety during and after the CT scan.
  • Contrast Injector Proficiency: Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and skillful operation of contrast media injectors, ensuring precise and controlled administration.
  • i-STAT Testing and GFR Calculation: Perform i-STAT testing and accurately calculate Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR) following established departmental policies and procedures, crucial for patient safety and informed decision-making in ChristianaCare CT scan scheduling.
  • Age-Specific Patient Care: Exhibit the necessary skills and knowledge to provide tailored care for patients of all age groups – neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric – understanding their unique needs and developmental stages.

Qualifications to Thrive

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • ARRT Registry Completion: Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is essential.
  • ARRT Registry in CT Scan (Required): Specific ARRT registry in Computed Tomography (CT) is a mandatory requirement for this position.
  • Delaware State Licensure: Licensure by the State of Delaware in Radiation Protection is necessary to practice as a CT Technologist in this location.
  • Associate’s Degree (Preferred): An Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology is preferred, demonstrating a strong foundation in the field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
