Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is a powerful feature available in Nitro Pro that enhances your scanned PDF documents:

  • Make documents searchable: By utilizing OCR, Nitro Pro can create a searchable and annotatable text layer on top of your image-based PDF. This invisible text layer allows you to easily search for specific words or phrases within the document and annotate directly on the text, significantly improving document usability and information retrieval.

Nitro Pro also includes additional options to refine your PDF conversion process:

  • PDF/A-1b compliance: For long-term archiving needs, you can create PDF/A-1b compliant files. This standard ensures that your PDFs are archival-grade, preserving document integrity and accessibility for future use.
  • Open PDF file after creation: For immediate access and review, you can set Nitro Pro to automatically open the newly created PDF file right after conversion. This feature allows for quick verification and further editing if needed.
