Weverse Shop QR Code Scan Feature Ending: What You Need to Know

Hello from Weverse Shop, the official merch store for your favorite artists. We’re writing to keep you in the loop about an upcoming change to the Weverse Shop app that may affect how you interact with certain features.

As of Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at 2:00 PM (KST), the built-in QR code scanning feature within the Weverse Shop app will be discontinued. This means that after this date, you will no longer be able to use the Weverse Shop app to directly scan QR codes.

While this might seem like a significant change, especially if you’re used to using the in-app scanner, don’t worry! Scanning QR codes related to your Weverse Shop activities and BIGHIT MUSIC artist memberships is still possible. You’ll simply need to use your smartphone’s default camera application instead.

What’s Changing and When?

• End of Weverse Shop QR Scan Feature: Tuesday, April 2, 2024, 2:00 PM (KST).
• New Way to Scan QR Codes: Use your phone’s default Camera app to scan QR codes.

Why is this happening?

Weverse Shop is constantly evolving to improve user experience and streamline its services. This change is part of ongoing efforts to optimize the app and potentially integrate with broader Weverse ecosystem features. While the in-app scanner is being removed, the core functionality of accessing content and rewards via QR codes remains.

How to Scan QR Codes After April 2nd, 2024

The process for scanning QR codes will be even simpler after this update. Here’s how you can do it using your phone’s built-in camera:

1. Open your Camera App: Launch the default camera application on your smartphone (whether you’re using an iPhone or an Android device).
2. Point your Camera at the QR Code: Position your camera so that the QR code is clearly visible within the viewfinder. Ensure good lighting and that the QR code is not blurry.
3. Wait for Recognition: Your phone’s camera should automatically recognize the QR code. A notification or a link might appear on your screen.
4. Tap the Notification/Link: Tap the notification or link that appears. This will redirect you to the intended webpage or content associated with the QR code. This could be a survey, exclusive content, or a reward redemption page related to your BIGHIT MUSIC artist membership or Weverse Shop purchase.

What About My NX Rewards and Surveys?

If you’ve been collecting My NX rewards by scanning QR codes, there are a few important updates regarding this system:

• Transition to Weverse My Collection: My NX Rewards are being transferred to “My Collection” on the Weverse platform.
• Badge Rewards: Instead of emblems, you will now receive badges as rewards. You can find more details about this transition in the official Weverse Shop notices.

Important Actions Before the Change

To ensure a smooth transition and avoid losing any potential rewards, please take note of the following:

• Redeem Remaining QR Rewards: If you have any unscanned QR codes or pending rewards, make sure to scan them using the Weverse Shop in-app scanner before April 2, 2024, at 2:00 PM (KST).
• Complete Surveys: If you encounter any incomplete surveys after scanning QR codes, please complete them to receive your rewards.

Changes to Rewards Post-Service Termination

Here’s a breakdown of how rewards might change after the Weverse Shop QR scan feature ends:

1. Surveys and Badges Discontinued for Some My NX: For certain past events and products, surveys and badge rewards will no longer be available. However, if there is Weverse Shop Cash to be rewarded, you will still receive it.
2. My NX Expiration: Some My NX points will expire entirely with the termination of the QR-scanning feature, meaning no rewards will be available for these. It’s crucial to redeem your My NX rewards before the deadline (Tue. April 2, 2024, 2:00 PM KST).
3. Unique Badges: Identical badges will now be provided only once per account, unlike the previous emblem system where you could potentially receive duplicates.

To provide clarity, Weverse Shop has released a detailed list of specific events and products where surveys and badges will no longer be available after the service termination. For these items, you may still receive Weverse Shop Cash if it was part of the reward system.
