Crucially, remember to click the “OK” button after making changes in Settings to ensure your configurations are saved.

Understanding the “Care” Function: AI Mode vs. Manual Mode

The “Care” section is central to Advanced SystemCare’s optimization capabilities. It offers two modes: AI Mode and Manual Mode.

AI Mode: Intelligent Optimization

AI Mode simplifies PC maintenance by intelligently analyzing your system status and applying optimal cleaning and speed-up strategies automatically. Simply select AI Mode and initiate a scan for a hassle-free optimization experience.

Manual Mode: Customized Control

Manual Mode provides detailed control over the optimization process. It presents 16 individual modules, allowing you to selectively choose which areas of your system to scan and optimize. This mode is ideal for users who prefer to customize their system maintenance routine.

Pre-Scan Settings: Configuring Post-Scan Behavior and Avoiding Unwanted Actions

Before initiating a scan in either AI or Manual Mode, it is highly recommended to review and adjust the settings for each module within the Settings panel. This is where you can configure how Advanced SystemCare behaves after scanning, including options related to automatic fixes and post-scan actions.

This pre-scan configuration is vital to ensure Advanced SystemCare operates as expected and to prevent any unintended changes to your system. Pay close attention to settings like “Auto Fix” options in scan results, and options to shut down, restart, hibernate, or sleep your PC automatically after fixes are applied. Adjust these to align with your desired post-scan behavior.

Remember to always click “OK” in the Settings window to save your configurations before running a scan.

Exploring Care Modules in Detail

Manual Mode in “Care” offers 16 modules, each targeting a specific area of system optimization. Understanding each module is key to effective PC maintenance.

1. Privacy Sweep

This module focuses on clearing your digital footprint by erasing activity history and browsing traces across all user accounts. It helps maintain privacy and can contribute to system speed by removing unnecessary data.

Note: Close all running browsers before running Privacy Sweep for thorough cleaning.

2. Junk File Clean

Junk File Clean is designed to reclaim valuable disk space by removing temporary files, system caches, and other unnecessary junk files. It can clean junk files for all user accounts.

Note: Items in the Windows Downloads folder require manual selection for cleaning to prevent accidental deletion of important downloads.

3. Shortcut Fix

This module scans for and repairs invalid shortcuts on your system, improving desktop and menu organization and preventing errors when launching applications.

After scanning, review the detailed results. Right-click options like “Jump to location” allow you to inspect the shortcut’s target location and decide on the appropriate action.

4. Registry Clean

Registry Clean performs an in-depth scan of the Windows Registry to remove junk entries, repair errors, and compact registry bloat. This module aims to improve system performance and stability.

5. System Optimization

System Optimization fine-tunes system settings based on your PC usage patterns to maximize performance. It aims to unleash the built-in potential of your hardware and operating system.

6. Internet Boost

Internet Boost analyzes and optimizes your internet connection settings to improve browsing speed and network performance.

7. Registry Defrag

Registry Defrag compacts and optimizes the Windows Registry structure, reducing fragmentation and improving system responsiveness.

8. Disk Optimization

Disk Optimization defragments traditional Hard Disk Drives (HDDs) and performs TRIM operations on Solid State Drives (SSDs) to enhance disk performance and access speeds.

9. Antivirus Protection

This module monitors the status of antivirus software on your PC and provides a quick way to enable protection if it’s disabled.

10. Firewall

Firewall module checks the status of the Windows Firewall and allows you to quickly enable it if it’s turned off, enhancing system security.

11. Hardware Health

Hardware Health scans for outdated device drivers and helps you update them to ensure optimal hardware performance and system stability.

12. Software Health

Software Health identifies outdated software applications installed on your PC and helps you update them to the latest versions, patching security vulnerabilities and improving software functionality.

13. Spyware Removal

Spyware Removal module scans your system for spyware, adware, and other malicious threats, and removes them to protect your privacy and system security.

14. Security Reinforce

Security Reinforce module strengthens system security by identifying and patching system weaknesses that could be exploited by hackers.

15. Vulnerability Fix

Vulnerability Fix scans for known Windows vulnerabilities and automatically downloads and installs necessary hotfixes and patches directly from Microsoft servers.

16. Disk Check

Disk Check module scans your hard drives for errors and attempts to repair them, preventing data loss and improving disk reliability.

Initiating and Managing Scans

Once you’ve configured your settings and selected your desired Care modules, you’re ready to initiate a scan.

Starting a Scan

Click the prominent “SCAN” button located in the center of the Advanced SystemCare interface to begin the scanning process.

Post-Scan Options and Automatic Actions

In the scan window, you’ll find five options to define what Advanced SystemCare should do after the scan is complete. These options directly control the post-scan behavior and address the core user need to “turn off after scanning” in a broader sense:

  • Auto fix: Automatically applies recommended fixes after the scan completes. This is the default behavior if no other option is selected.
  • Auto fix & shut down PC: Automatically applies fixes and then shuts down your computer. This option addresses the “turn off after scanning” intent directly by automating a shutdown after the process.
  • Auto fix & restart PC: Automatically applies fixes and then restarts your computer. Useful for changes that require a system reboot to take effect.
  • Auto fix & hibernate PC: Automatically applies fixes and then puts your computer into hibernation.
  • Auto fix & sleep PC: Automatically applies fixes and then puts your computer to sleep.

Selecting “Auto fix & shut down PC”, “Auto fix & restart PC”, “Auto fix & hibernate PC”, or “Auto fix & sleep PC” will effectively address the user’s need to have the system “turn off after scanning” by automating a system power state change after the scan and fix process is complete.

Understanding Scan Progress: The percentage displayed during a scan indicates the progress of the current module being scanned, not the overall scan progress across all selected modules.

Reviewing Scan Results: As each module completes its scan, you can click on the module name to view the detailed scan results before proceeding with fixes.

Applying Fixes and Managing Ignored Items

After the scan, Advanced SystemCare presents a “Fix” screen summarizing the detected issues.

Reviewing and Applying Fixes

Before clicking the “Fix” button, you can click on each module under the “Summary” section to review the detected problems in detail. This allows you to make informed decisions about which items to fix.

Ignoring Items

If you do not want to fix a specific item, right-click on it and select “Ignore“. This adds the item to the “Ignore List” and prevents it from being flagged in future scans.

The “Ignore” option is available for: Invalid shortcuts, Registry entries, System optimizations, Internet Boost, Outdated drivers, Outdated software, Spyware threats, System weaknesses, and Security holes.

Managing the Ignore List

To re-scan and fix ignored items, or update ignored hotfixes, access the “Ignore List” or “Vulnerability Fix” settings within the main Settings panel. Removing items from the Ignore List will ensure they are included in future scans.

Speeding Up Your PC with “Speed Up” Features

Advanced SystemCare’s “Speed Up” section provides additional tools to further enhance system performance.

Turbo Boost

Turbo Boost optimizes your computer by disabling unnecessary services and background applications, freeing up system resources for improved performance.

  • Turning Turbo Boost On/Off: Use the “Turn On/Turn Off” button to toggle Turbo Boost.
