As a dedicated crafter, keeping my creative space organized and my tools protected is always a priority. Like many of you who own a Brother Scan N Cut, finding the perfect storage solution for these amazing machines can be a bit of a quest. Recently, while browsing online, I stumbled upon some carrying cases that seemed promising, and after trying them out, I’m excited to share my thoughts.
These carrying bags popped up as a “you might like” suggestion, and initially, I was hesitant. I already had a cart full of crafting goodies! However, the search for a suitable carry bag for my Scan N Cut CM and DX models has been ongoing. So, I decided to take a closer look at the product details and, crucially, checked the measurements to ensure compatibility with my machines.
They seemed to be the right size, and at a reasonable price point, I thought, “Why not?” I added a couple to my basket and almost forgot about them until they arrived. The bags were delivered well-packaged, and upon unboxing, I unfolded each one and inserted the padded base. The first impression was that they looked spacious and well-made.
The Fit Test: CM and DX Models
The real test, of course, was whether my Scan N Cut machines would actually fit. My main question was: could I fit both a CM and a DX model in these bags?
The answer is a qualified yes. The Brother Scan N Cut CM fits perfectly! There’s plenty of room around the machine, and the internal security straps easily fasten over it, holding it securely in place.
However, the Brother Scan N Cut DX is a snugger fit. While it does fit inside the bag, the security straps don’t quite reach over it. Despite this, the zipper closes without any struggle, ensuring the machine is still fully enclosed and protected. To be fair, I had anticipated this tighter fit for the DX model based on the product dimensions before purchasing.
Here are my Scan N Cut machines nestled in their new carrying cases, ready for storage or transport.
Perfect for CM Model Owners
If you own a Brother Scan N Cut CM model, this carrying case is an excellent choice. It offers ample space for the machine itself, plus room to spare for accessories. While I might not recommend storing the cutting mat inside the main compartment, there’s definitely enough space for blades, pens, and other essential extras you need to keep with your machine.
DX Model Considerations
For Brother Scan N Cut DX users, while the fit is snug, it’s still functional. I discovered that removing the padded base provides a bit more vertical space, which could be beneficial for the DX model. If you prefer extra room for your DX, replacing the padded base with a thin, stiff alternative could be a good solution.
A Stylish and Practical Storage Solution
My personal goal was to find stylish storage for my machines that would also protect them from dust in my open-plan workspace. I wanted something that looked presentable and could discreetly store my crafting equipment when not in use. These carrying cases perfectly meet these needs. They are stylish enough to blend into my home decor and effectively keep my machines dust-free and out of sight when needed.
Value and Color Options
Priced at £34.99 each when I purchased them, these Brother Scan N Cut carrying cases offer great value for money. At the time of ordering, there were three color options available: purple, grey polka dot, and the grey version I chose.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I’m very pleased with these carrying cases. They fulfill my requirements for both storage and style, and I believe they are a worthwhile investment for Scan N Cut owners. What do you think? Could these carrying cases be the storage solution you’ve been looking for?
